Our Instructor
Meet Megan Goss
Megan’s passion for dog training began early, assisting her father with police canine work about 10 years ago. She went on to become a certified Area Dog Trainer with PetSmart in Union Gap, where she taught group classes and private sessions, helping dogs and their owners address challenges such as reactivity, resource guarding, and fear-based behaviors.
Megan later served as a Washington State–certified Humane Animal Control Officer with the Yakima Humane Society, contributing to behavioral rehabilitation and court-related assessments, and became the City of Sunnyside’s first Animal Control Officer. Today, she works as a 9-1-1 telecommunicator for Yakima County while training and handling dogs full-time.
Megan is an American Kennel Club–certified evaluator for CGC, STAR Puppy, Trick Dog titles, and the AKC Temperament Test, and is an associate member of the American Society of Canine Trainers International, as well as a recognized Service and Therapy Dog Trainer. She actively competes in AKC Rally, Obedience, and Conformation, and trains in French Ring and Search and Rescue. Her long-term goal is to open a full-service training and boarding facility in the Yakima Valley.
